Shared Web Hosting Is The Cheapest
August 11, 2009There are a number of different types of web hosting these days; all catering to the varying needs of individuals and businesses. To give you an example, it’s fairly obvious that Amazon.com will not be using the same type of hosting as your personal / blogging website – due to the sheer differences in the demands on resources between the two sites.
So what are the most common types of web hosting, and which are the cheapest? Let’s take a look.
There are two mainstream types of cheap web hosting: shared hosting, and dedicated hosting (there is also something called reseller hosting, but that is beyond the scope of this article).
Dedicated hosting is used by large companies – often those who need a lot of space to host their website, and who have a large quantity of traffic coming their way on a regular basis.
Hence, shared hosting is supplied for the small business, or the individual who needs only a fraction of the storage / space of a large business. These of course are the cheapest hosting plans, and the ones which are the most practical for the average website owner.
