Voip Vendors Need To Be More Consultative With Their Clients Than The Usual Businessmen

To be frank, it is really not technology that we will talk about. What we are really talking about is how to spread this technology more quickly. How more and more people can benefit from this technology. According to my observations, most of the people know how the internet phone works but they do not know what it can do for them. Convergence is the only solution if we want to make the world benefit from the voip service. I had the opportunity to work on the voice over IP implementations, convergence and limitations with everyone from very large multinational corporations to very small village level voice over IP implementations in Africa and my experience is that convergence done by some experienced hands works a lot more than millions spent in hiring models and TV adds.

As you know we are talking about the IP based applications. The question is what we can tell the clients about them? Obviously, they need to be informed with the presently available outstanding facilities as well as the future prospects that pc phone has for them.
For example to an African client I would paint the picture where he is watching the law and order situation seriously on TV and suddenly a stream of commercials starts, which is not required at that moment. I would tell him that through voip TV he can watch the information that he needs. Let him know that voip technology now has the ability to do that. Not only that, he can enjoy his phone and TV on the same line.

As a voip phone service provider, you should be much more than what the customers are expecting. What I am referring to here is the ability to be truly consultative while talking to the consumers. They need a lot of help. What the voip service providers are offering them in the form of voip and related products and services, are not something magical from the technological point of view but the explanation of opportunities and their effects upon the life and business of the customers makes a lot of difference. In short, the voip vendors need to be much more consultative in many different ways than other business vendors ever had been.
